What stays on your phone

Ternslog keeps your locations, your visits, your documents and your imports in the app's folder on your phone. That folder is covered by your iCloud backup if you have it on. We cannot read it. There is no account and no sign-in.

What leaves your phone

Analytics and telemetry. Analytics and telemetry are first party and go to our own servers. They are used to improve features and fix bugs. They contain no personal information and no precise location.

Purchases. Apple handles payment. The app may send Apple's signed receipt to our purchase server to link a purchase to your install, so a refund or a restore works.

Nothing else. No advertising identifiers, no tracking across apps, no third-party analytics kits.

Documents

The documents you add to the app are stored on your device and synced automatically with your iCloud. They are never uploaded outside your device.

Permissions

Location: required to assign your visits to a country automatically. You can decline it or restrict how the location is used.

Photos, optional: the app can find the location in your photos and build up your location history and timeline. Photos are never analysed or uploaded off the device. They are only used to extract the location from the photo metadata, if you have that turned on. This is one optional way to fill in your location history. You can always add your location history by hand.

Your data, your files

Reports and archives are files you create and own. An archive restores your whole log on a new phone. Deleting the app deletes the folder.
